Abstract

The primary objective of the paper is to design and fabricate the sheet metal cutter for cutting circular profile using drilling machine. In order to obtain circular cutting of the sheet metal at any size, the adjustable tool setup is provided thereby reducing the cost and increasing the productivity. In many industries the circular profile cutting of the sheet metal is done by punching machines. But in case of small and medium scale industries, using separate machines for sheet metal for cutting for various applications is not possible. This paper deals with "Design and fabrication of sheet metal cutter - cutting circular profile using radial drilling machine". Instead of using drilling bits, a separate adjustable tool holder arrangement, which contains a single point cutting tool, is provided for cutting operations.
