Abstract

As the suspension system of vehicle carries the vehicle body and transmits all forces between the vehicle body and road, the suspension system is consider to be responsible for driving comfort and safety. The suspension system is very much essential of vehicle and it directly influence the working, comfort and noise level of an Automobile. In Automobile industries structure optimization with static loads has been commonly used for weight reduction and working improvement of modern cars. This paper deals with Finite Element Analysis of the front lower control arm with material optimization under static loading condition. The front lower control arm has been modeled using Pro-E. The model is subjected to different loads and boundary conditions for two different cases. The generated model is meshed with tetra elements by using HYPERMESH 12 and this solver desk file is imported to solver ABAQUS 6.12. The stress of the model is studied from analysis to verify the design safety.
