Bulb turbine ? A review

Abstract

Bulb turbine is low head turbine, generally used in rivers to generate power. There are different issues in performance and efficiency of bulb turbine, This paper reviews for identifying problems related with bulb turbines. Different computer models are utilized to modify or correct cavitation effect in laboratory. Various parts of bulb turbine affects cavitation phenomenon, for example blade design of bulb turbine affects cavitations, It is important to design computerized model and analyze it in flow simulation software. After analyzing the solution we come to know that effect of cavitation in bulb turbine is considerable to overcome it different remedial action can be implemented, This paper also deals with different solutions of implementations.
